Financial Controller

As our Financial Controller, you will act as a strategic partner to management while leading all financial controlling, reporting, and accounting activities for Belgium. You will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial operations, while continuously improve processes and support the company's sustainable growth.

You will lead a team of three finance professionals and work closely with the Group Financial Performance Director, operational teams, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Manage daily accounting operations, reconciliations, invoicing, and month/year-end closing.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in statutory reports, tax filings, and audits.
  • Lead the budgeting, cost control, and performance monitoring process.
  • Review contracts, proactively identify risks, and support insurance and claims management.
  • Act as a business partner, providing timely, data-driven insights to improve profitability and enhance member experience.”
  • Lead and develop a small finance team, fostering collaboration and continuous and oversee their professional development.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation in financial processes.
  • Maintain strong documentation and audit trails.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of financial controlling or audit experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience managing or coaching a team.
  • Strong knowledge of local statutory accounting and tax regulations
  • Familiarity with cash management and payroll processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of ERP/accounting systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in French and English; Dutch is an asset.
  • High ethical standards and respect for compliance and group guidelines.
